ʩֱ’ School Celebrates GCSE Results Success

ʩֱ' pupils celebrated a stellar set of GCSE results today with 39% of grades being the top mark of a grade 9 (A**), a record since normal grading resumed post-Covid. Grade 9 was the most common grade awarded to this cohort of pupils.

67% of grades achieved were 9-8 (previously A*) and 84% of grades were 9-7 (previously A*-A).

Eight boys achieved the outstanding academic success of a full sweep of 9s in all ten of their GCSE subjects.

There were exceptional performances from many departments with 61% of Maths examinations scoring a grade 9. The Science subjects continue to be a strength at Taylors’ with Chemistry achieving 62% grade 9s, Biology 57% grade 9s and Physics with 49% grade 9s. Greek achieved 54% grade 9s and Drama also excelled with 47% of students achieving a grade 9.

"These excellent results achieved across the breadth of our curriculum are testament to the calibre of our pupils and their teachers,” said Simon Everson, Head Master. “While we celebrate exam success, being narrowly focused on exam results is not our approach. We have got to know each of these boys and encouraged them to nurture their passions and interests in harmony with their scholarship. That’s what we believe is at the heart of a good education at ʩֱ’”.
