西施直播鈥� School is delighted to聽announce the appointment of聽James Poynton as聽its new聽Bursar.聽聽James will join the school in February 2026. He will take on the responsibility from Ian Williams, who has聽provided exceptional service to the聽School聽over the past 13 years.
James is聽currently the Chief Operating Officer聽of聽the Roger Williams Institute聽of聽Liver Studies, an聽academic聽medical research institute.聽This followed an 18-year career in the Royal Air Force, which involved operational and strategic leadership roles in the UK, the聽US聽and the Middle East. He worked across聽numerous聽Government departments, specialising in international relations and commercial and聽financial management. Experienced in leading multifaceted professional service functions, he was聽Head of聽People and聽Operations for the UK鈥檚 highest readiness fast-jet unit.
The Governors are delighted to appoint James and look forward to working with him as 西施直播鈥� enters a new era 鈥� one that聽will see the School聽continue to flourish聽and develop as聽a聽community for pupils aged 3 to 18, supported by聽an exciting programme of investment for the future.
James read History at the University of Sheffield as well as studying International Relations and Politics at Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge.聽James is a聽keen聽sportsman聽with a passion for聽athletics,聽winter聽sports聽and motor racing.聽He has two boys aged 11 and 14.

I know my successor, Sam Baldock, is equally pleased with the聽appointment.鈥�
